Disney Takes Majority Share of Jetix Europe

A subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company has entered into agreements to acquire major shares of Jetix Europe.  The purchase price of EUR 11 per share, will bring Disney's ownership of the pan-European kids entertainment company to approximately 96 percent.

Dreamworks creates alliance in India

Thomson announced that its Technicolor Services division has formed a strategic alliance with DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. to develop world-class animation capabilities in India. The alliance leverages Thomsons recent investment in Paprikaas Animation Studios, a leading animation and game content provider in Bangalore, India. Paprikaas Animation Studios offers creative, technical and production capabilities to design and produce computer-generated animation for feature films, television programming, commercials and video games, with a strong focus on digital 3D content.

Autodesk Signs Definitive Agreement to Buy Mudbox

Design software maker, Autodesk Inc. (ADSK.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said it has agreed to acquire substantially all the assets of Skymatter Ltd., a New Zealand-based privately held company that develops Mudbox 3D brush-based modeling software.

Financial terms of the transaction, which will expand Autodesk's 3D entertainment and design offering, were not disclosed.

Skymatter founders Andrew Camenisch, Dave Cardwell and Tibor Madjar will join Autodesk's media and entertainment business, Autodesk said in a statement.
